Search engine optimization
Search engine optimization (SEO) focuses on increasing a website’s natural ranking on the search engines. Natural rankings are the rankings determined by the algorithms used by search engines. These rankings cannot be bought. The ranking your website holds is determined by the relevance the search engine puts on your site in relation to the search. Optimization involves modifying a website so that search engines see it as relevant and want to place it at the top. Unlike pay-per-click, using optimization to increase your ranking won’t cost you a fee every time your website link is clicked.

Components of SEO
On-page optimization deals directly with the elements seen on the actual pages of a website. These elements include, but are not limited to, the words used within the text, headings, page titles, and the Meta content. Optimization takes these elements and modifies them so that a webpage is seen as “search engine friendly.”

Off-page optimization, or link popularity, refers to the number of websites that contain a link to your website. As a website’s link popularity increases, so does the search engine ranking of that website.
